Users should note that data from 1971 to 2008 is Statistics Canada's current CPI series for St. John's. The data from 1952 to 1970 is based on an earlier Statistics Canada CPI series and has been adjusted by Economic Research and Analysis to provide one series covering 55 years. As a result, the series from 1952 to 1970 is not entirely consistent with the later series and has been provided to give users some limited indication of how inflation has progressed over this period.
