Car Sales Decreased by -1.3% in 2017

The number of new motor vehicles sold in Newfoundland and Labrador totalled 33,252 in 2017, representing an decrease of 1.3% compared to 2016.

The value of car sales and leases was $1,200.8 million in 2017, up 2.2% over 2016.

Canada as a whole recorded an increase (4.7%) in the number of motor vehicles sold in 2017. The value of national car sales increased by 9.8% over the same period.
